Batteries Bathurst Regional Council Civic Centre and Aldi supermarkets accept household batteries at no charge for safe handling. Alternatively, batteries can be dropped off at the Community Recycling Centre at the Bathurst Regional Council Waste Management Centre. Batteries are accepted for free if they are separated from other waste and are placed in the correct location.
Bicycles Working bicycles can be taken to your local charity including the Junktion located on College Rd, South Bathurst. Phone (02) 6331 4654.
Books Non damaged books, DVD’s, CD’s, Audio Books and especially local history items can be donated to the Bathurst Regional Library. Residents are encouraged to phone ahead if you have large quantities. Charities or second hand bookshops may also accept non damaged books search “charity shop” or “second hand bookshop” in the Yellow Pages.
Bubble Wrap Bubble wrap should be reused if possible as it cannot be recycled and will be deposited in landfill once placed into the red lidded waste bin.Bubble wrap can also be placed in RedCycle for soft plastic recycling.
Building Materials Building materials can often be reused so it is important to take them to the correct facility; The Junktion may take building materials however it is recommended to phone ahead. Phone (02) 6331 4654 or use the Waste Management Centre.
