Household Chemical Cleanout

Council will once again be hosting a Household Chemical Cleanout in 2026. This annual event allows residents to safely dispose of a range of household hazardous materials for free.

The Household Chemical Cleanout for 2026 will take place on Sunday, 2 August at Harris Park, Mount Panorama from 11.00 am to 2.00 pm.

The following items are accepted: 

• Garden chemicals 
• Pool chemicals 
• Household cleaners
• Hobby chemicals
• Poisons
• Batteries
• Paint
• Motor oils, fluids, and fuels
• Fluoro lights
• Gas bottles
• Fire extinguishers
• Smoke detectors

This collection is for household quantities only (up to 20L or 20kg).

This service is not available to businesses or for material delivered in commercial quantities.

Please take care to ensure chemicals are transported safely and are not leaking from their containers.

The following items are not accepted:

• Asbestos
• Empty containers
• Farm chemicals 
• Mobile phones
• Flares & ammunition
• Tyres
• Clinical & medical waste
