State Significant Developments

Under the Environmental Planning & Assessment Act projects can be classified as State Significant Development (SSD) if they are important to the State for economic, environmental or social reasons.

SSD projects require consent from the Independent Planning Commission or the Minister for Planning (or delegate).  The Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure coordinates the detailed assessment of the merits of the project.

Panorama Battery Energy Storage System

A Battery Energy Storage System with a capacity of 100 MW / 200 MWh and associated ancillary infrastructure.

Bathurst Integrated Medical

Construction and use of an integrated medical facility providing hospital, medical centre and education uses and ancillary multilevel carpark to service the medical facility and other surrounding uses within the Bathurst Town Centre.

Sunny Corner Wind Farm

Development of a wind energy generation project with up to 80 wind turbines, with energy storage and associated infrastructure.

Central West Pumped Hydro
