Flying Foxes

Flying-foxes are nomadic mammals that travel up and down the east coast of Australia feeding on native blossoms and fruits, spreading seeds and pollinating native plants.

Responsibility for controlling pest birds, such as pigeons, falls to the property owner where they are present. In 2012 Council adopted the Pest Bird Management Plan. Council conducts regular trapping and removal programs in high priority locations.
