WASTE EDUCATION KIT

The Waste Education Kit offers educators free access to a wide range of engaging teaching resources, available for loan from Bathurst Library. Featuring lesson plans, educational guides, interactive games, books and activity sheets. The kit explores key waste and sustainability topics including composting, recycling, and litter. Resources are tailored for students from Kindergarten to Year 10.

LITTER-FREE LEARNING PROGRAM

Litter-free Learning Program and Picture Building Game.png

The Litter-free Learning Program is a hands-on program that supports schools to reduce litter, develop and implement litter prevention actions and empower students to become leaders in environmental stewardship. Through the program, students learn about the impacts of litter, explore real-world environmental challenges and use data-driven approaches to design and deliver positive change within their school community.

WASTE 2 ART EDUCATIONAL RESOURCES

The Waste 2 Art Learning Program brings creativity and sustainability into the classroom. This comprehensive educational resource provides step by step lesson plans, engaging worksheets and syllabus links designed to help students rethink waste, explore environmental issues, and create meaningful artworks using reused and recycled materials.

For Community

Council offers a variety of waste education resources for the community, covering topics such as composting, worm farming, and food waste.

COMPOSTING

A great way to recycle food scraps at home is through composting. They are easy to maintain and transform organic waste into nutrient-rich compost that helps gardens thrive.

WORM FARMING

Worm farming is a simple and effective way to recycle food scraps. They help break down organic waste to produce valuable worm castings and liquid fertiliser, creating a healthy soil conditioner for gardens and plants.

SCRAP TOGETHER

The EPA's Scrap Together education program is available to Councils across the region, supporting community awareness and education on the effective use of Food Organics and Garden Organics (FOGO) services.
