Road works

During January our works crews will be working in the following areas: 

Urban Roads

• Eltham Drive Kelso  - reseal early February 2026
• Osborne Ave and Edgell St intersection - heavy patching
• Pacific Way  - heavy patching
• Uralla Cct - heavy patching
• Rocket St (Bathurst Public Schoool bus bay) - heavy patching

Rural Roads

• Lagoon Rd - The Lagoo area - maintenance grade
• Freemantle Road reconstruction - shoulder gravelling/pipe extensions (as part of the detailed road works schedule outlined below)
• Bathampton Road - maintenance grade
• Sunny Corner Road - drainage works

Works Scheduled – Early 2026

• Fremantle Road (near Killongbutta Road)
• • Scope: Road reconstruction works including widening the existing pavement to 8m, installation of additional piped drainage culverts. Approximate length: 1 km.
  • Status: In progress, anticipated completion March 2026.
  • Funding Source: Roads to Recovery – Federal Government
• White Rock Road – Lee Street Intersection to Wallaroi Close
• • Scope: Road reconstruction of the existing pavement including widening and drainage improvements. Approximate length: 850 m.
  • Status: Scheduled to commence early February 2026.
  • Funding Source: Roads to Recovery – Federal Government
• Turondale Road at ‘Gimlet Gulley’
• • Scope: Road pavement upgrade for 1 km (500 m each side of the newly constructed culvert).
  • Status: Scheduled to commence February/March 2026, anticipated completion May 2026.

  Funding Source: Regional Emergency Road Repair Fund (RERRF) – State Government

Weed spraying

Contractors will be weed spraying roadside verges on state roads across the local government aware in coming weeks - the weed spraying will occur on Trunkey/Goulburn Road, Sofala Road and the O'Connell Road.
