Applications

Development

Development is a process that creates growth, progress, positive change or the addition of physical, economic, environmental, social and demographic components to our region.

Planning Controls

Local planning controls regulate densities, height, external design and siting, building materials, open space provisions, and the level of developer contribution required to cover physical and/or community infrastructure costs arising from the proposed development.

State Significant Developments

Under the Environmental Planning & Assessment Act projects can be classified as State Significant Development (SSD) if they are important to the State for economic, environmental or social reasons.

Pre Development Application meetings (PDAMs)

A PDAM is designed to provide professional advice for anyone looking to submit larger development proposals or where the proposal has the potential to have a significant impact on the environment.

Renewable energy projects

A number of large-scale renewable energy projects have been proposed for the Bathurst Regional Council local government area and in neighbouring Councils. The projects are at various stages of development. The assessment of these projects, because of their size and scope is generally through the State Significant Development process, not Council.
