Building Commission NSW is coming to Bathurst

2025 ClubGRANTS Scheme (Category 1) applications close this Saturday
Applications are open for community organisations to apply for funding from the 2025 ClubGRANTS Scheme, under CATEGORY 1 criteria.
Applications close this Saturday 31 May 2025. All applications are required to be completed via the ClubGRANTS Online portal. No manual applications can be received.
Macquarie Park Playground in William Street will be closed for use from Monday 2 June to Friday 13 June 2025 inclusive, reopening on Monday 16 June 2025. The playground will be closed while the existing organic soft-fall and timber edging is replaced.
The area immediately around the playground where the works will occur will be para-webbed to prevent access. Other areas of the park including barbecue shelters and adjacent play elements will still be available for use.
Nightwork on the Mitchell Highway
Transport for NSW is carrying out essential maintenance work on the Mitchell Highway from Wednesday 4 June.
Works will take place at multiple locations on the Mitchell Highway between Bathurst & Orange and will include general maintenance and the repair of flexible road safety barriers. To minimise impacts to motorists these works will be carried out at night between 6pm and 5am from Wednesday 4 June and it is expected to take two nights to complete, weather permitting.

A Policy Meeting of Bathurst Regional Council will be held in the Council Chamber, Civic Centre, Bathurst on Wednesday 4 June at 6pm. Public Forum will be held from 6pm to allow members of the public to raise matters with Council.
Nightwork on Vittoria Street
On the evening of Monday 16 June, Transport for NSW will be carrying out maintenance to repair damaged road surfaces and culvert replacement on Vittoria Street. To minimise the impact on motorists, the work will be carried out between 7pm and 5am on the evening of Monday 16 June and it is expected to take one night, weather permitting.

Nightwork on Mitchell Highway between Bathurst and Robin Hill
Beginning Sunday 25 May, Transport for NSW will be carrying out essential maintenance work to repair damaged road surfaces on the Mitchell Highway between Bradwardine Road and Dunkeld Road. The work will take place at night between 7pm and 5am from Sunday to Thursday nights, commencing Sunday 25 May. It is expected the work will take ten nights, weather permitting.

Crago Fountain Restoration Works
Project works will commence for the restoration and maintenance of Crago Fountain in Machattie Park on Friday 30 May. The project is anticipated to take between four to six weeks, weather dependent.
The fountain and surrounding area will be closed to public access for the duration of the works for safety reasons. The works will include paint and rust removal, replacement of missing fountain elements, and repainting the fountain to preserve the structure.
Council has awarded a contract to Carters Engineering to undertake the works.
The project is fully funded through the Australian Government’s Local Roads and Community Infrastructure Program.
Bridge Maintenance Works - Warrys Road
National Parks & Wildlife Service have advised that they will be undertaking bridge maintenance work on Warrys Road at the intersection of Clarke Street and Warrys Road. This section of Warrys Road will be closed with a detour in place from 2 June 2025 to 11 June 2025 inclusive.

Crane Lifts - Church Lane
Twohill Services Pty Ltd advises that a section of Church Lane will be temporarily closed on Tuesday 3 June 2025, from 7am to 1pm. The closure will affect the area between William Street and just beyond Ribbon Gang Lane. This temporary closure is required to facilitate crane lifts.

Armada Bathurst Shopping Centre Bus Stop Closure
The bus stop outside Armada Bathurst Shopping Centre in Howick Street is closed until 6 June 2025 while the existing shelter is upgraded. A temporary bus stop has been set up in Bentinck Street, near the corner of Howick Street for the duration of the works.
The works include the removal of the existing bus shelter and installing a new structure with upgraded seating, signage and roofing.

Temporary Road Closure - Ribbon Gang Lane
Council advises that Ribbon Gang Lane will be closed from Thursday 20 March 2025 for a period of approximately 12 weeks. During this time access will be maintained for pedestrians and adjacent properties.
The temporary closure is for Scaffolding Works completed by DSL Construction with enquiries to be directed to 0400 096 505.
