2025 Bathurst Waste 2 Art Winners

The 2025 Waste 2 Art exhibition opens tomorrow, Saturday 10 May, with the official opening and awards ceremony for this year’s winners.

Bathurst’s 2025 Waste 2 Art theme was 'The Year of the Toys,' challenging participants to turn their used toys into artistic creations. Bathurst Mayor, Cr Robert Taylor, remarked on the incredible ingenuity and creativity of this year’s entries.

“I can safely say that Bathurst is a town overflowing with artists. The submissions for this year’s Waste 2 Art competition were immensely creative, it was just a joy to see. What a terrific reminder it was too of the ways we can reuse our old toys and materials, rather than sending them to landfill,” he noted.

This year’s competition included a wide range of categories, open to artists in pre-primary, primary and secondary school, as well as community members. The deserving 2025 winners are attached.

Mayor Taylor congratulated the winners, thanking them for their hard work and dedication.

“Well done to this year’s winners. These winning artworks(PDF, 147KB) stood out to the judging panel as thought provoking, highly considered creations, and it was clear they were crafted with extreme care and dedication. From more than 60 entries, it was certainly a tough choice, and I’d like to congratulate every artist who entered this year,” he said.

The 2025 exhibition is on at the Bathurst Memorial Entertainment Centre (BMEC), 105 William Street, Bathurst.
