Following Council’s adoption of the 2025/26 budget, funding has been made available to continue with the amenity upgrade works at the Bathurst Manning Aquatic Centre.
Mayor Robert Taylor noted the upgrades are progressing smoothly, at great benefit to the community.
“The female changeroom upgrade at the Aquatic Centre, funded through the 2024/25 budget, is now close to completion and anticipated to reopen by the end of the month - well ahead of schedule.
"As part of the continued upgrades at the centre, a contract has been awarded to local building contractors, Tablelands Builders, for the refurbishment of the male changerooms. Work is scheduled to begin on 11 August and is expected to be completed in time for the outdoor pool’s reopening ahead of the 2025 summer season," said Mayor Taylor.
Works are to include the replacement of shower and toilet partitioning, installation of new shower heads & taps, basins, waterproofing, new toilets, wall tiling, and a new floor surfacing treatment.
Council advises that changes will be in place during the upgrade works to ensure that changeroom options are provided to all pool patrons at the aquatic centre. Signage outlining temporary alternative changerooms will be displayed throughout the facility.
$200,000 has been allocated for this project, as provisioned for in the 2025/2026 budget.
