Help shape the future of tourism and events in the Bathurst Region
Published on 20 May 2026
Bathurst Regional Council is currently developing the Bathurst Region Destination Management Plan and Event Strategy 2026-2030 to shape the future of tourism and events across the region.
Mayor Robert Taylor stated this Strategy will provide a clear roadmap for long-term growth, however, community input is vital in its development.
“Council is embarking on an important project to shape the future of tourism and events across our region, and we would greatly value your input. By building on our local strengths, supporting businesses and reflecting the unique character of our city and region, we seek to build a strategy that appropriately supports the wants and needs of locals and visitors to Bathurst.
“To execute this project, Council has engaged Tilma Group, one of Australia’s most respected regional tourism and events agencies. The Strategy’s development will run from April to July, and Council will involve Bathurst’s tourism and event industry in helping to shape the strategy through consultation sessions in May.
“The success of this strategy relies on our local industry and community sharing their collective knowledge, wisdom and experience. By helping us understand what is currently working well and what needs improvement, you will help shape the strategy and influence the direction of tourism in our region for the next four years,” said Mayor Taylor.
Council is seeking community input and feedback on this draft strategy. To read more and to provide comments, please head to Council’s YourSay page here: yoursay.bathurst.nsw.gov.au/destination-management-plan
