Get into the festive spirit and support local this Christmas at Bathurst ShopFest, a one-day shopping event taking place next Thursday 11 December.
Bathurst Mayor, Cr Robert Taylor, noted ShopFest is a wonderful celebration of the fantastic array of local businesses we have across the Bathurst Region and encourages shoppers to head into town before heading online this Christmas season.
“For one day only, participating Bathurst CBD businesses will have the opportunity to bring their stores to the street - trading along the footpath and showcasing their great range of products, specials and unique gifts.
“ShopFest is the perfect chance to check off your Christmas shopping list while backing the local businesses that make our community thrive. Plus, shoppers on Thursday will also go into the running to win one of 2x $500 gift cards! It certainly pays to shop local before you head out of town this Christmas.
“Once you’ve crossed off your gift list, head on down to Kings Parade from 4-6.30pm for a festive afternoon with the kids, including live music by the Mitchell Conservatorium, face painting, photos with Santa, and gold coin gift wrapping - with all proceeds supporting The Salvos.
“This one-day event is a great way to get into the holiday spirit and support our brilliant local businesses this festive season,” remarked the Mayor.

Mayor Robert Taylor commented on additional promotions taking place this December, prompting people to further their support for local businesses over Christmas.
“Beyond ShopFest, be sure to maintain your support for our local businesses throughout December and keep Christmas close to home. Until 21 December, if you make a purchase at any of the 135 participating local businesses in town, you can go in the running to win one of 4x $200 Buy Local gift cards each week - these make a great gift for Christmas! Find the full list of businesses on the Bathurst Live Invest website and find the perfect present right here in town,” said Mayor Taylor.
