Bathurst’s famed National Motor Racing Museum reported record attendance during the week of the 2025 Repco Bathurst 1000.

In the lead up to and throughout race week, the National Motor Racing Museum (NMRM) held a terrific range of exhibitions and activations in readiness for the 65th Repco Bathurst 1000.

Bathurst Mayor Cr Robert Taylor noted that visitation during this time increased by 31% against the same period in 2024.

“The NMRM had such fantastic turnout throughout Race Week. The total number of visitors from Saturday 4 October through to Monday 13 October reached 6544. This figure is 31% greater than 2024, and an all-time record for the museum!

“Not only were their exhibitions a key attractor, but they also held some excellent After-Hours Functions. This included the Ford Cortina Nationals farewell function, Brad Jones Racing team dinner, Touring Car Masters category welcome event - which I was lucky to tag along to - as well as an incredible V8 Sleuth Open Night with Colin Bond, Paul Morris and Mark Larkham. Across these great events there was an impressive total of 750 visitors,” said Mayor Taylor.

The NMRM was also highly involved in the community events that were held throughout town ahead of the 1000, which Mayor Cr Robert Taylor remarked added to the fantastic race spirit around the region.

“The NMRM brought incredible energy to Bathurst in the lead-up to the 1000, with their vehicle displays, street party presence, and live TV and radio broadcast contributions adding to the Race Week buzz.

“Inside the Museum, two major special exhibitions and the arrival of five new vehicles, including two freshly restored debut cars, made it a must-visit destination during race week.

“Perched at the foot of Mount Panorama, our NMRM certainly is a treasure. It is a huge tourism drawcard and their record visitation numbers across the 2025 Bathurst 1000 is no doubt testament to the dedicated and passionate staff we have over there,” noted Mayor Taylor.
