Host Family Opportunities for 2027 Toyo Study Tour
Published on 11 September 2026
The Bathurst Visitor Information Centre is looking for welcoming local families to host students from Japan's Toyo High School during their visit to Bathurst next year.
2027 will mark Toyo High School’s 25th visit to Bathurst, with 190 students set to explore Bathurst for three nights, from Friday 26 February to Monday 1 March 2027.
Mayor Cr Robert Taylor remarked opening your home and signing up as a host family can build international friendships that truly last a lifetime.
“Hosting an international student is a rewarding experience that offers the chance to learn about another culture and build beautiful, lasting connections. Whether you're hosting for the first time or have welcomed international students before, we would love to have you involved in this wonderful community program.
“Bathurst shares a terrific relationship with Japan and Toyo High School, and it’s excellent to see visiting student numbers rise and our relationship continue to strengthen as this cultural exchange develops year on year. It’s the generosity of local families across the Bathurst Region that makes this program possible and delivers memorable experiences for all involved,” said Mayor Taylor.
