Following a successful trial period last year, Bathurst ratepayers will again be receiving museum vouchers along with their July rates notice.
In July 2024, Council instigated a trial museum voucher program for the ratepayers of Bathurst, providing one free entry to each of the Council-operated museums.
Mayor Robert Taylor praised the program’s success, not only in driving increased visitation, but in reaffirming the cultural and educational value of Bathurst’s museums as vital community assets.
“The program was designed as the next step in engaging and thanking the Bathurst community for supporting our world class museums. It encouraged the community to visit our museums and bring their friends and family along.
“One year on, the positive results suggest that the voucher system has value to ratepayers and potential to further raise the profile of museums in Bathurst. We are pleased to be continuing this service for the ratepayers across the region,” said Mayor Taylor.
How do the vouchers work?
Ratepayers will receive one free entry voucher for each Council-operated museum included with their July rate instalment notice (ratepayers will also receive their annual waste vouchers at the same time).
The vouchers can be redeemed at:
Australian Fossil and Mineral Museum
Bathurst Rail Museum
Chifley Home and Education Centre
National Motor Racing Museum
The vouchers provide free entry for 1 person. A 10% discount will be available off normal entry fees for individuals who attend with the voucher holder. The voucher also includes a 10% retail discount at each museum outlet and is redeemable on one transaction.
