Bathurst Regional Council is pleased to announce that the Draft Villages Strategy will be placed on Council’s YourSay page for 28 days of public exhibition, from Monday 4 August to Monday 1 September 2025.

The Draft Strategy outlines a long-term vision and planning framework for the villages across the Bathurst Region. Developed in consultation with local communities, the Strategy aims to support sustainable growth, protect village character, and guide future decision-making.

Key focus areas include:

  • The local economy

  • Council leadership and collaboration

  • Sustainability

  • A caring and resilient community

Mayor Robert Taylor said the Draft Villages Strategy reflects the values, challenges and aspirations voiced by residents during earlier consultation stages.

“Our villages are a vital part of the Bathurst Region’s identity. This strategy is about supporting their future in a way that’s locally driven and community focused.

“We want to ensure our residents have the opportunity to help shape the final document by providing feedback during the exhibition period,” Mayor Taylor said.
