Over the coming months, Council is preparing a Rural Strategy to guide the management of our rural areas into the future.
Bathurst Mayor, Cr Robert Taylor, noted this strategy will be looking at key issues such as minimum lot sizes, dwelling entitlements, subdivision rules, and environmental protections.
“Rural land is at the heart of the Bathurst Region – shaping our farms, villages, landscapes, and way of life.
“We want to ensure that any strategy Council puts together is an appropriate reflection of what is required by residents and visitors of our rural communities and will actively support these areas to continue to thrive.
“Your input is vital. The choices we make today will influence the future of our rural communities, the region’s economy, and our environment,” said Mayor Taylor.
Council wants to hear your thoughts on what matters most and how we can balance growth, lifestyle, and protection of the land we value. Have your say via this link: https://yoursay.bathurst.nsw.gov.au/rural-strategy
The closing date for survey submissions and commentary is 28 November 2025.
