Council is inviting community feedback on the Bathurst Employment Lands Strategy to inform future updates to Vision Bathurst 2040 - the Bathurst Region Local Strategic Planning Statement (2020).

Mayor Robert Taylor noted Council engaged consultants Egis Oceania to prepare the Bathurst Employment Lands Strategy, the core plan underpinning Council’s land use decisions.

“The Bathurst Employment Lands Strategy aims to support Council in planning for future employment growth. It serves as a foundation for land use decisions, helping determine whether to maintain or adjust zonings for employment land use and where infrastructure planning is required.

“In particular, the Strategy provides strategic direction for employment land in the Bathurst Region Local Government Area and considers the retail centre hierarchy for our city.

“Council has placed the Employment Lands Strategy on public exhibition, and we invite the community and landholders to review the documentation and please provide feedback. All feedback is valued and considered in the ongoing implementation of the Strategy,” said Mayor Taylor.

Further information about the Strategy is available on the Bathurst YourSay site:
