The Bathurst Region Heritage Assistance Fund, delivered with support from the NSW Heritage Branch of the Office of Environment and Heritage, is now open for grant applications for the 2026/27 period.
Bathurst Mayor Robert Taylor noted the Heritage Assistance Fund is aimed at supporting local property owners to restore and protect the heritage of the Bathurst Region.
“Council’s Heritage Assistance program offers up to $5,000 on a dollar-for-dollar basis toward heritage conservation and interpretation projects, assisting residents and community groups to restore, repair, protect, promote and interpret the richness of our region’s heritage.
“The fund, delivered in its various forms over the years, has proven to be a popular and successful grant program offered by Council. Since the inception of our first heritage grants in 1996, and the introduction of funding support for interpretation and CBD projects, Council has jointly funded more than 1200 projects with a value of works completed exceeding $12 million,” commented Mayor Taylor.
In its 28th year of running, subject to eligibility criteria and conditions, the heritage grant program currently funds:
1) Conservation and reinstatement projects,
2) interpretation projects, and
3) the protection of validated Aboriginal Objects
