Pollution Control

Air Quality

Air quality refers to the degree to which the air is suitable or clean enough for humans or the environment.

Asbestos

Asbestos is extremely fibrous and the tiny fibres are easily breathed in where they can become trapped in the lungs. It is important that asbestos is identified correctly and treated with care.

EPA Data

We work with the EPA Authority to protect and enhance our region's environment.

Gasworks Rehabilitation

The former Bathurst Gasworks site, on Russell Street, was operated from 1888 until 1979 in conjunction with Orange City and Lithgow Councils.

Littering and Illegal Dumping

Litter and illegal dumping of waste on land and in water damages the environment, harms wildlife and sea creatures, can injure people and makes our spaces less healthy. Cleaning up litter also costs taxpayers a lot of money.

Noise

Noise pollution is considered to be any unwanted or disturbing sound that affects the health and well-being of humans and other organisms.

Pesticide Use

Pesticide application refers to the practical way in which pesticides are delivered to their biological targets. Public concern about the use of pesticides has highlighted the need to make this process as efficient as possible, in order to minimise their release into the environment and human exposure.
