Event of the Year Award
If you or someone you know has staged a successful event in 2017 then this is the opportunity to be recognised for the planning, dedication and commitment that often goes unnoticed.
Community Event of the Year:
Events that promote long term benefits for the community, enhance community involvement, and showcase what Bathurst Region has to offer.
Destination Event of the Year:
Events that promote visitation to the Bathurst Region, increase overnight stays, and improve the Bathurst Region economy.
Prize: Winners from each category will receive a total of $2000 worth of print and radio advertising with 2BS/B-Rock and Bathurst City Life to be spent advertising their 2018 event.
Nominations must be received at Council by 4:45pm Thursday 11 January 2018.
Please note there is one application for both categories, judges will determine what category the event will fall under.
Australia Day 2018
Australia Day Celebrations will take a new format in 2018 with the following events throughout the day:
BBQ Breakfast Where: Eglinton War Memorial Hall When: 8am
Keeping the old favourites the Eglinton War Memorial Hall will host a BBQ Breakfast to start the Australia Day celebrations. Included in the morning will be an official ceremony, National Anthem and flag raising, car displays, and for the kids, novelty races and giveaways will be up for grabs.
Citizenship & Award Ceremony Where: Machattie Park When: 9.30am
The Ceremony will welcome new Australian citizens followed by the Australia Day Awards Ceremony. Awards on the day include: Event of the Year (Community & Destination) , Citizen & Young Citizen of the Year, Youth Arts Award and the JO Ross Greening Bathurst.
