Rural Transfer Stations
Within the Bathurst Regional Council area there are 4 transfer stations sites and 1 landfill that are provided for rural residents to use in various locations. You must own a property within the rural area to use the sites.

| Rockley |
Approximately 500 metres on the left side of Common Road from Burraga Road. Rockley landfill site is the only manned rural site. It is opened the following times: Winter (April to October) 1pm to 5pm Wednesday 1pm to 5pm Saturday Summer (Day light savings hours) 2pm to 6pm Wednesday 2pm to 6pm Saturday |
| Sofala | Approximately 800 metres from Village on left side of road as heading into Sofala on the Sofala Road near the cemetery. |
| Sunny Corner | Turn off Great Western Highway onto the Sunny Corner Road, which goes into West Mitchell Road. Approximately 500 metres along West Mitchell Road. On right side of the road is the tip turnoff (sign to the tip is on the left hand). Cannot be seen from the road. |
| Trunkey Creek |
Approximately 800 metres from Village on left side of Goulburn Road. |
All transfer stations sites are open every day except Rockley which is staffed and is open 1pm to 5pm Wednesday and Saturday in winter and 2pm to 6pm Wednesday and Saturday in summer months (daylight savings time).
What NOT to put in the transfer stations:

• Clinical Wastes
• Needles (Sharps)
• Biological Wastes
• Motor Oil and Grease
• Septic Effluent
• Chemicals - Agricultural
• Tyres/Industrial Wastes/Contractors Waste
• Demolition Wastes
• No liquid waste
How do the Transfer Stations work?
1. Customers using the Transfer Station are required to back onto the loading ramp.
2. Then deposit their rubbish directly into the steel bin.
3. Once the bin is full it is brought back to the Bathurst Waste Management Centre for emptying.
4. Bins are swapped over on a needs basis.
Residents in rural areas also benefit from increased recycling opportunities with co-mingled recycling bins available at transfer stations which will then be picked up from each site to be taken for collection and processing.
