If your waste (garbage - red or dark green lidded, recycling or green/organics) bin has been lost or stolen Council requests you check with the neighbours, and see if your bin has ended up further down your street etc before contacting Council. If you cannot find the bin you will need to complete a Declaration Statement Form or contact Council staff to discuss the matter on (02) 6333 6100.
For lost/stolen waste bin a declaration statement needs to be completed, signed and returned to Council. The Declaration Form can be returned by MAIL to The General Manager, Bathurst Regional Council, Private Mail Bag 17 BATHURST NSW 2795 or IN PERSON to 158 Russell Street, Bathurst or by FAX on (02) 6331 7211 or EMAIL.
A $72 Bin Replacement Fee applies (per bin) if the bin has been stolen. This fee is an upfront cost that will need to be paid prior to the new Replacement Bin (excluding vandalism) being arranged for the property. This fee can be paid at the Rates Section of Council or by Credit Card over the phone.
Please note waste bins remain the property of the Bathurst Regional Council and please contact Council should your original bin be returned.
Delivery Timeframe: Please note that bin delivery will usually have a turn around of up to 7 working days from the date the request is received by Council.
Damaged Waste Bins
If your bin has been damaged Council will repair or replace it. A bin is considered damaged and will be repaired if it is missing its wheels or lid. If the bin has a (large) split body it will be replaced with a new bin. Damaged bins must be placed on the nature strip to await repairs/replacement. Contact Council on (02) 6333 6100 to report a damaged bin.
