Bathurst residents have a fortnightly kerbside recycling service in place following the awarding of the tender for collection of household recyclables in December 2007.

Q Who do I contact with any enquiries regarding a new recycling service?
A For all enquiries regarding new recycling services please contact Council on 6333 6111.

Q If I am not interested in recycling do I have to pay for the service?
A Yes, all Bathurst residents will pay for the service as Council wishes to encourage the whole community to maximise their recycling, and to spread the costs of the service over the entire community.

Q What happens if my bin gets damaged or stolen?
A Please contact the Recycling Hotline on 1300 725 415.

Q If I recycle the wrong things what will happen?
A The truck will take everything included in the bin and will notify you through a sticker on the bin in the first instance followed by letters should you continue to recycle incorrectly.

Q Can I use plastic bags to bundle up my recycling?
A No, plastic bags cannot be recycled and bundling recyclables can cause injuries to staff when sorting.

Q I have read all of the information about the new recycling service and am still unsure as to when my collection day and week is. Who can help?

Q How do I know what items can and can not be recycled?

Q What do the Council recycling bins look like?
A The new bins can be easily identified by their yellow lids and Council’s logo on the front.

Q Can paint tins be recycled?
A Yes. Please rinse them out before placing in the recycling bin.
