Go Kart Track Development

I note there have been many discussions about the Go Kart Track to be constructed at the top of Mount Panorama/Wahluu.

Deputy Mayor Bobby BourkeI note there have been many discussions about the Go Kart Track to be constructed at the top of Mount Panorama/Wahluu. Council originally approved the development in September 2015, with a modification to develop the track to international standard approved in December 2018. To assist in clarifying the facts about the project, information is available at yoursay.bathurst.nsw.gov.au. The site includes copies of the relevant reports and other documents considered by Council as part of the development application process. The studies undertaken as part of the approval process included; noise, environmental, vegetation and cultural reviews. The facility will be owned by Council, which is not dissimilar to other community facilities such as; the Panorama Motorcycle Club – Motocross circuit and the various gun clubs all located on Mount Panorama/Wahluu in addition to Cooke Hockey complex and Proctor Park football fields. The use of the area for a Go Kart Track, which has already been approved by Council, is consistent with the categorisation and zoning of this area, with the majority of the McPhillamy Park area still available for general community use.

Household Chemical Clean Out

Council will be holding a household chemical clean out on Thursday 19 November at the Cooke Hockey Complex between 8am and 4pm. Residents can bring up to 20L or 20Kg of waste items for free, although please make sure to transport waste to the collection safely. For more information about what can be dropped off at the chemical clean out please contact Council on 6333 6111 or visit the Council website..
