Don your gardening gloves, embrace the outdoors and lend us a hand to help us clean up some of our community and schools flood damaged planting sites and help plant native plants along the banks of the Macquarie Wambuul River.
Commencing at 10am at the Kefford Street Nursery Open Space, adults and kids alike can assist in mulching and replacing tree guards on flood damaged plantings and help plant native trees, shrubs and grasses that once mature will provide important habitat for local wildlife, and improve the health of this much loved river.
And as it will be Mothers Day, the planting will be followed by a BBQ and we'll even have a special gift for the Mum's that come along on the day.
No experience is needed and all plants and equipment are provided. Please bring water, sunscreen, and a hat and wear suitable shoes, and clothing for being outdoors. To ensure safe hygiene practices we ask that you please bring along your own gardening gloves. Council will provide hand washing facilities. The event will go ahead in light rain, so please bring a raincoat if required. All children must be accompanied and supervised by an adult carer.
Community Tree Planting Days are subject to COVID-19 restrictions and will follow all COVID Safe guidelines as outlined in Bathurst Regional Councils COVID-19 Management Plan for Councils Community & Schools Environmental Conservation Volunteer Program.
