BATHURST REGIONAL COUNCIL DROUGHT RELIEF MEASURES
FREE WATER FOR VERIFIED PRIMARY PRODUCERS
Bathurst Regional Council resolved at the Council Meeting of 5 September 2018 to provide a limited free bulk water supply for drought affected rural customers. The period of the free bulk water supply will be determined by Council at a future date and customers will be notified of the cessation date.
Please download an application form, or form is available from the cashier’s counter on the ground floor of the Civic Centre. For verification purposes, Council requires presentation of a driver’s licence and a PIC certificate from your Local Lands Council. Staff will then verify you as a ratepayer.
Water filling station cards cost $25.00.
Your card will provide you with access to 20,000 litres of water (20 kilolitres). This card can only be used at the Hereford Street filling station.
The 20 kilolitre allowance is on a per week basis and you must personally attend Council to top up the card.
This card is not a disposable item. It is designed for repeated use.
If you lose your card then you must immediately advise Council (phone (02) 6333 6290).
Water is only for personal use and cannot be provided to a third party.
Users of this service are solely responsible for cleanliness of containers/tanks filled from filling stations. Bathurst Regional Council has no responsibility for water quality once water is removed from the standpipe.
Council will monitor usage and reserves the right to cancel access to filling stations if conditions of use are not complied with.
