Rural Living Handbook
Central Tablelands Local Land Services (LLS) updated the Rural Living Handbook in October 2014.
A copy of the latest handbook can be found here
The handbook was originally developed by Goulburn Mulwaree Council in conjunction with the Sydney Catchment Authority (SCA) and further revised by Joel Little, Environmental Officer at Bathurst Regional Council in 2011 with the support of the Central West Catchment Management Authority, and as part of the Bathurst Orange Dubbo Sustainability Alliance.
The Rural Living Handbook is intended to be a tool for new land owners, or existing owners wanting to brush up on their knowledge. There is a range of information about weed and pest management, water conservation, salinity and erosion control, native vegetation and wildlife, chemical use, farm safety and local planning information. Key contacts and links to further information are also provided.
The Rural Living Handbook is now available for free from your Local Land Services Office or the Civic Centre.
