Conservation Volunteering & Tree Planting

Have you ever thought about getting involved to help improve Bathurst’s natural areas? Join Council's Community Environmental Engagement Officer at a community tree planting day or a revegetation maintenance day. Give as much or as little time as you can spare – it all makes a difference to help rehabilitate our local rivers, creeks and woodlands.

Revegetation Maintenance Days

Held every Thursday and Friday, help to maintain revegetation sites within Council's parks and reserves through weeding, mulching and planting. Contact Bill Josh on 0407 256 791 for park locations as they vary week to week.

COVID Safe Guidelines

The Community Tree Planting Days and Revegetation Maintainance Days are subject to COVID-19 restrictions and will follow all COVID Safe guidelines as outlined in Bathurst Regional Council's COVID-19 Management Plan for Councils Community & Schools Environmental Conservation Volunteer Program

Staff or volunteers who are feeling unwell, are showing signs of COVID-19, have recently returned from overseas travel or think they may have been in close contact with a confirmed case of COVID-19, are not to participate in any activity delivered by Bathurst Regional Council and should monitor their health and seek medical attention.

To minimise community spread by non-participants, volunteers will be required to register prior to the activity. ‘Roll-ups’ are not permitted. Advanced registration will allow for information relating to COVID-19 protocols to be disseminated and health and safety information to be collected from all volunteers.
