Environmental Rebates and Incentives

Governments at all levels recognise the importance of providing assistance so that the community can implement actions with environmental benefits. There are a range of incentives and rebates available to do this.

Below are the most popular programs available through Council, and the State and Federal Governments*.

Bathurst Regional Council Incentives

Council is not currently running any incentive programs.

Central Tablelands Local Land Services (LLS)

Local Land Services offer a range of incentives for Bathurst Region landholders to help manage their land in a way that maintains or improves productivity, as well as ensuring the future of water, soil and other natural resources.  Incentives vary, please check by visiting the following website or by calling the LLS Bathurst office on (02) 6333 2300 or visit the Bathurst LLS office at 66 Corporation Avenue, Bathurst NSW 2795.

State Government Rebates

The NSW Office of Environment and Heritage (OEH) have various rebates for residential and rural properties.  Further information and application forms are available from the website or by calling 1300 361 967.

The State Government's NSW 2021 10-year plan contains key targets for the economy, services, infrastructure, governance, communities and the environment.

The NSW Government is also currently rolling out the Energy Affordability Package which aims to save NSW households and small businesses hundreds of dollars a year off their energy bills. The package includes rebates, upgrades to appliances and equipment, access to training resources and the removal of exit fees when changing energy retailers, so consumers are free to choose the best deal.

Federal Government Rebates

The Federal Department of Environment provides several opportunities for residents (and community groups) to improve the environment. Visit the website for details. Further information and application forms are available from the website or by calling the number listed for each program.

Conditions may apply. Applicants may have to meet all/some of the conditions for each applicable rebate. Some rebates are means tested on household income. Some households may not be able to choose more than 1 rebate from each applicable Government program. Some programs will change significantly so it is up to the applicant to ensure that they still meet the eligibility requirements at time of application.
