General Manager's Department

David SherleyThe General Manager, Mr David Sherley oversees the functions of each Department within Council and is an important link between the four (4) key Departments and the Council.

The General Manager's section provides:-

To the Mayor and Councillors

  • secretarial support including letters and reports;
  • organisation of mayoral functions such as Citizenship Ceremonies and civic receptions;
  • co-ordination of attendance of Mayor and Councillors at community functions and meetings.

The General Manager

  • provides a communication link between Council, its ratepayers and the senior staff;
  • is responsible for the day to day running of the Council, including the control of all staff;
  • is responsible for the implementation of Council's adopted budget and management plan.
