The Bathurst Regional Access Committee (BRAC) is an independent voluntary committee that advocates, educates and/or advises Council, Government Agencies, Public Organisations and Businesses in order to achieve fair and equal access to the built environment, goods and services.
BRAC also endeavours to help with resident access issues or concerns in order that everyone is able to participate in life on an equal basis as much as feasible. All members of the community are invited to attend or provide input. This open invitation is extended to all businesses, support groups and organisations as well as visitors to the region.
Any resident of the Bathurst Regional Council Local Government Area is able to raise relevant issues and seek the Committee’s support and advice. A great deal of access rectification and education is achieved by the Committee for the benefit of all. Often it is only a lack of knowledge that leads to difficulties for people with mobility problems.
If you are unable to attend meetings but would like to seek assistance or provide feedback on access issues, if you would like to go on the email list to receive Agendas and Minutes or if you require more information please contact the BRAC Secretary.
Meetings are held on the 3rd Monday of every month (excluding December and January) at 12:30pm in the meeting rooms on the first floor of the Council Civic Centre Russell Street. An elevator and stairs are available.
BRAC appreciates the support of Bathurst Regional Council.
