Bathurst Region Heritage

The Bathurst Region Heritage Planning Proposal aims to amend the Bathurst Regional (Interim) LEP 2005 by:

-     Removing the existing 5 heritage conservation areas and 131 heritage items from
      the LEP, and
-     Implement instead the 10 new heritage conservation areas and 299 heritage 
      items as recommended in the Bathurst Region Heritage Study 2007 and the
      Bathurst Conservation Area Review 2007.

The new conservation areas will include some new areas, as well as alterations and extensions to existing conservation areas. Locations where heritage conservation areas are proposed to apply include: 

•     Bathurst City
•     Evans Plains
•     Hill End
•     Kelso
•     Peel
•     Perthville
•     Rockley
•     Sofala
•     Trunkey Creek
•     Wattle Flat

The Planning Proposal, including the list and maps of heritage items and heritage conservation areas, may be viewed at the office of the Bathurst Regional Council for a period of one month from 8 May to 6 June 2010 (public holidays excepted) and during this time, interested parties may lodge a submission with Council in respect of the proposal.
