The Bathurst Regional (Interim) Local Environmental Plan 2005, as amended, applies to all land within the Bathurst Regional Local Government Area.
Council is currently preparing a new comprehensive Local Environmental Plan (LEP) consistent with the Standard Instrument developed by the NSW Department of Planning. Bathurst has been placed on the Department of Planning's 2-year priority time frame for completion of the LEP. The LEP is due for completion at the end of 2011.
Council, at its meeting held 19 August 2009, considered the progress of the comprehensive LEP and DCP. Notwithstanding that the Bathurst Region has now been placed on the Department's two year priority program, Council remains concerned at teh length of time being taken to finalise the Rural Strategy and progress the LEP and DCP. As a result, Council resolved to:
(a) prepare an interim comprehensive Development Control Plan to control development under the Bathurst Regional (Interim) LEP 2005 which implements the recommendations of the Bathurst Region Urban and Rural Strategies and the Bathurst Region Heritage Study in so far as is possible under the current LEP arrangements, and
(b) prepare and submit a Planning Proposal under Section 55 of the EPA Act to the Department of Planning to amend Bathurst Regional (Interim) LEP 2005 to implement the heritage conservation areas and heritage items as recommended in the Bathurst Region Heritage Study and the Bathurst Conservation Area Review, and
(c) note that work will continue on the comprehensive LEP and DCP.
The current LEP and respective amendments are available for download below. Council does not have electronic versions of the zoning maps available from its website. To obtain a copy of the zoning maps, please fill out the application form below and pay the applicable fee. The maps will either be posted or made available for collection.
