Bathurst is a progressive City and together with the region enjoys a sustained period of economic and population growth. The City remains one of the fastest growing inland centres in NSW. Bathurst is also the oldest inland settlement in NSW and together with the surrounding villages is home to some of the finest buildings to be found anywhere in Australia.
Planning for future development means Council has to be proactive in ensuring that the infrastructure necessary to accommodate development is provided whilst at the same time implementing appropriate heritage management strategies to maintain it's heritage.
