Inspirational evening of dance from award-winning Bangarra Dance Theatre choreographer |

The creativity of Frances Rings, an award winning indigenous choreographer with the Bangarra Dance Theatre, will be showcased at an inspirational evening of contemporary dance at the Bathurst Memorial Entertainment Centre on Tuesday evening.
Featuring two separate works, Identity will be performed by Tasdance, Tasmania's only professional dance company. The tour, which premiered on 11 May, is taking the show to nine venues in Victoria and NSW, including Bendigo, Sale and Bathurst.

Bathurst Library has thrown out a challenge to children across the Bathurst region to get involved with BOOKLINK, a competition that promotes the importance and enjoyment of reading.
The competition, which runs until the end of July, is open to kids between the ages of one and 17 years. The children are divided into separate age groups and encouraged to read as many books as possible – the more books they read, the more opportunity they have to win a prize.

Iris Dorsett, Road Safety Officer at Bathurst Regional Council, has been recognised by the Institute of Public Works Engineering Australia (IPWEA) for the development of 'Mining Safer Roads', an innovative road safety education program now used in rural and remote mining areas throughout NSW.
