Planning Studies

Planning future land use for the Bathurst Region is a major task.

The Bathurst Region Urban Strategy and the Bathurst Region Heritage Study were adopted by Council in March 2007.  Council has resolved to defer consideration of the Draft Bathurst Region Rural Strategy until after the decision of the State Government Inquiry into Rural Land Use Planning is handed down.   These Strategies will provide the broad ranging frameworks on which Council will build a new comprehensive Local Environmental Plan (LEP) that will set out the regulations to manage the Bathurst Regional Local Government Area.

Council undertakes numerous other planning studies/projects that provide the framework for land use planning in the region.
