Bathurst Regional Council has adopted a strategy for the ongoing management of the region's heritage. Specifically, Council runs a number of programs to assist in the management and conservation of the region's heritage and history.
Heritage Strategy
In accordance with the Heritage Office requirements, Bathurst Regional Council has prepared and adopted a Heritage Strategy that outlines the actions and strategies that Council will undertake during the funding period.
Bathurst Regional Council has a number of forms that are required to be completed when proposing to undertake works on any building older than 50 years, a Heritage Item and/or works on any building or structure located within a Conservation Area.
Bathurst Regional Council produces a Heritage Newsletter (Heritage Update) twice a year. The Heritage Update enables the effective distribution of information related to heritage management within the local government area.
Council has prepared a Heritage Asset Register of those properties of heritage significance owned or in the care and control of the former Bathurst City Council.
The Heritage Branch, Department of Planning, and Heritage Victoria websites contain technical notes on a number of different aspects relating to traditional building materials.
