The 2001 Census Data indicates that there are 3850 people with a disability living within the Bathurst Region. This represents 11% of the total population within the Bathurst Region. In comparison 17% of the New South Wales population are listed as having a disability.
The rate of disability in the Bathurst Region increases with age from 4% for children aged 0-4 years to 84% for those aged 85 years and over.
