The 2008 2BS Bathurst Regional Citizen and the 2008 Jack Aubin Young Citizen of the Year are Bruce Irvine and Hannah Cuttiford. On behalf of Bathurst Regional Council we would like to thank them both for their outstanding contributions to the Bathurst Region and community.

2008 2BS Citizen of the Year - Bruce Irvine

The President of Bathurst R.S.L. Sub Branch for 8 years, Bruce Irvine was Treasurer for 5 years and Trustee for 5 years. Bruce is a Life Member of the R.S.L. League of Australia and he was the Master of Ceremonies for the Prisoners of War and Padres and Nurses Re-Union on four occasions. A Bathurst City Councillor from 1987 to 1995, Bruce was Deputy Mayor in 1994/95 and he was the delegate on many Council Committees including Southern Mitchell County Council and Central West Group Apprentices. For four years Bruce volunteered one day a week at the Salvation Army Shop and he has been a member of the Yetholme Rural Fire Service for seven years.

2008 Jack Aubin Young Citizen of the Year - Hannah Cuttiford

A year 10 student Hannah Cuttiford has been involved in numerous community activities including, selling badges for legacy, the mothers and daughters program and puppy preschool. Hannah is a talented musician and singer. Hannah was awarded an Academic Achievement Award.
