Winburndale Dam is located on the Winburndale Rivulet, some 21 kilometres east of Bathurst. Water from the dam is used primarily for park watering and industrial purposes. Water supplied to Bathurst is provided by an old wood stave pipeline between the dam and the city.

winburndaledam3x200.jpgThe dam is a concrete gravity structure, 32 metres long and 22 metres above foundation level at its highest point.

The abutments are earthfill, sealed with a thin layer of concrete. The capacity of the dam is estimated at 1,700 million litres, from a catchment area of approximately 88 square kilometres.

There is no public access allowed to Winburndale Dam.
