Solar Power for Information Centre PDF Print E-mail

Bathurst Regional Council recently received funding through the Australian Government's ‘Nation Building - Economic Stimulus Plan' to install a 2kW Solar Module at the Bathurst Visitor Information Centre.

This grid interactive system generates up to 10kWh per day, and helps to offset mains electricity with power sourced from the sun. The system is designed so that solar electricity is fed straight into the energy demand along with mains-sourced power. Any excess electricity that is generated is fed back to the grid for use elsewhere.

The system was opened by the Federal Member for Macquarie, the Honourable Bob Debus on 26 August 2009.

If you would like to see how the system operates in real time, as well as learning how much carbon dioxide emissions have been saved through the installation, please click the link below.
