Woodheater Rebate - CLOSED

To help reduce pollution in our region, Bathurst Regional Council is again offering Bathurst residents financial assistance to replace older style woodheaters with cleaner, and more efficient alternatives such as gas or recerse cycle electric.  The rebate program is open to all Bathurst Region residences that use a non-Australian Standard compliant woodheater as the primary source of heat.

Program closed - All funds exhausted.

How does it work?

  • Residents must make an appointment with Council.  Council Officers will then inspect the woodheater at the premises and issue the applicant with an application form.
  • The form must be completed by the retailer, the installer, and then signed off at the Waste Management Centre when the unit is disposed for recycling.

Eligibility

  • Woodheaters must still be installed in the house at time of inspection
  • Woodheater can not be re-sold, all must be disposed of at the Waste Management Centre
  • The rebate is open for a wide variety of heating alternatives including gas, reverse cycle, central heating, and electric heating.
  • $350 to $700 is available per resident.
  • Limited funds are available. Once exhausted, no further rebates will be offered during 2010/11.

How do I book an appointment?

  • Call Council's Environment Section on 6333 6511
  • Visit the Environmental, Planning & Building Services Department at the Russell Street Civic Centre.
