Bathurst Regional Council and the NSW Food Authority have formed a partnership to ensure all food premises are inspected regularly each year. The partnership encourages uniformity across New South Wales with guidelines in place to help achieve this outcome.
Good food handling practices can prevent Food Borne Illnesses (FBI) and Council's officers promote food safety practices. This is achieved by regular inspections, education, regular newsletters concerning current food topics and the provision of "I'm Alert", an interactive online training tool This is available, at no cost, by visiting www.bathurst.imalert.com.auand then following the prompts. Council highly recommends any person involved in the food industry complete this training online.
