As one of Council’s major assets, the road network comprises 714km of sealed road and 540km of unsealed roads and is growing with continual development.

Council’s urban road reconstruction program is based on a number of different criteria aimed at providing an acceptable standard of sealed road in all of the Bathurst’s streets together with a separate program for rural local roads.

In the rural area which incorporates the rural areas of both former Councils, the reconstruction and improvement works remain based on a new priority program together with reconstruction works in the Sunny Corner area in association with Forests NSW.
