The principal aim of the scheme is to compliment and add to the city’s heritage, history and beauty and to contribute to the efficient use of space and movement, to improve the streetscape qualities of the CBD for users and to enhance business opportunities for the benefit of the whole community.
Including:-
- Renewal of aging infrastructure.
- Re-establishing the unique historic aesthetic qualities of the Bathurst CBD, whilst recognising the needs of the community into the 21st century, through improvements to buildings, Council’s lamp stands and appropriate landscaping.
- Creating a more personal public environment by improving the amenity of public space through the upgrading/replacement of facilities (ie. street furniture, information displays), and enhancing opportunities for public art and better use of civic spaces.
- Improve access to the CBD for vehicular and pedestrian traffic. Improve access to public transport facilities.
- Program beautification works within individual blocks.
