Council has provided $75,000 in its current Management Plan to be used to develop infrastructure in the rural villages of the Bathurst Region and is encouraging not-for-profit village community organisations to submit projects for consideration. The "rural" villages include; Hill End, Rockley, Sofala, Trunkey Creek, Wattle Flat and Yetholme.
Who can apply for grants?
Not-for-profit village community groups such as:
- environmental or natural resource groups;
- rural progress or community organisations;
- sporting associations, social, community or cultural clubs.
based in the rural historic villages of the Bathurst Regional Council area.
When can you apply?
Applications for 2011/2012 have closed.
What projects will be considered?
- the construction of new local sporting, community, cultural, tourism facilities that will improve the infrastructure of a village or locality;
- the provision of public facilities such as toilet blocks, weather protection shelters, walking trails, signage, car-parks, water facilities (bores, watering systems), BBQ, fixed playground equipment, emergency access (e.g. helipads);
- the provision of outdoor sporting courts or playing areas, floodlighting to outdoor courts or sporting areas;
What projects will not be considered?
- Projects with little or no public access for use by the general public;
- Request for day to day maintenance, salaries and minor repairs to existing facilities;
- Items of equipment, e.g. computers, sporting equipment, tools, lawnmowers, etc.;
- Purchase of land;
- Projects that involve the development of private or commercial ventures.
