Bathurst South Public School is located in one of the oldest settled areas in Bathurst. It has been located at its current site since 1968. The school aims to maintain a happy, secure and well-disciplined learning environment in which our community can take pride. The school's mission is "sharing a caring education for success today and tomorrow for all school members". Great emphasis is placed on student welfare, literacy and numeracy as these are seen as the main goals for the school. The school is also particularly proud of its programs in music, science and public speaking. The school has a number of successive generations of the same family attending the school, as well as a healthy inflow of families new to the community.
