We are committed - to upholding the right to asylum in Australia.
Our Aims are:
- To assist refugees to settle into our community;
- To raise awareness of refugee issues in the local community;
- To give practical support to visiting refugees.
Education
The group is continuing to educate itself via a partnership with STARTTS* and the wider community about compassionate advocacy for refugees and asylum seekers by inviting well-known speakers.
Training
*STARTTS is happy to provide training to group members and interested members of the community. Training will also be available through **BINC's Mentoring Program to members of the community.

Group Meetings
The Group meets on 4th Thursday of each month, 5pm - 6pm at Rahamim St Joseph's Mount, 34 Busby Street, Bathurst. "All Interested People Welcome"
The activities of the Bathurst Refugee Support Group are made possible by fundraising events and the generosity of the Bathurst Community.
The Bathurst Refugee Support Group received a Humanitarian Award for 2010 under the Rural and Regional Category from the NSW Service for the Treatment and Rehabilitation of Torture and Trauma Survivors and the Refugee Council of Australia.
