The Bathurst Memorial Entertainment Centre provides an extensive annual season of entertainment for all ages encompassing all forms of the performing arts from Australia and the world. Facilities in the Theatre and other venues within the Centre are amongst the best in regional Australia and are available for hire.
The Centre opened in March 1999 and comprises:
- A well equipped 642 seat proscenium arch theatre
- City Hall and conference facilities
- Commercial kitchen
- Three licensed bars
- Two foyers
- Ticketek Box Office
The Centre has its own entertainment program and attracts bookings from a wide range of sources.
The City Hall is licensed for a maximum of 1100 people and can be used in a variety of formats:
- In its smallest format it seats approximately 500 people on the ground level and 100 people on the Mezzanine level.
- For balls and weddings with dance floor it seats a maximum of 500 people spread over both levels.
- There are four Conference Rooms which can be set up in a variety of formats.
- In theatre style each Conference Room can accommodate 70 people.
- The movable dividing walls of Conference rooms can be removed to create double Conference Rooms capable of accommodating 150 people theatre style.
- The two foyers can be used for separate functions, additional break out rooms etc.
The Centre does not have in-house catering (apart from tea, coffee and afternoon tea services) but quotes from local caterers can be arranged upon request. The Centre has its own license and all alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks for events will be organised by the Bar and Functions Co-ordinator.
